Social Studies:  Begin working on your travel brochure.  It is due on October 27, 2010.  It will be the LAST Social Studies grade for this nine weeks!  Make it a good one!
Also, complete the Blue Ridge, Valley and Ridge, and Appalachian Plateau study guide.  Your test will be on Tuesday.

Tomorrow is the MEGA PARTY!!  Get ready for some fun!  Our homeroom will be attending the party at 10:45.  This will take the place of resource for the day.

Substitute

I will be out of the building on Monday, October 18, 2010.  The students will have a substitute.  Therefore, I will not have a homework post for Monday.  Hopefully the students will be responsible and write everything down that they need.  The only homework that I am SURE of is as follows:
Science: Study for plant test on Tuesday.
Spelling:  Study for pre-test.

Science:  Plant test postponed until Tuesday!  That means 4 more days to study!  Please take advantage of this extra time!

Homework 10-14-10

First of all....sorry this is so late in the evening!  I got busy cleaning after school and then had to rush home to pick up my kids.  I forgot that I didn't post until just now!  Secondly, while cleaning at school, I noticed that MANY of my homeroom students did not take their Science OR Social Studies notes home this evening!  It is going to be very difficult for them to study for the tests they have tomorrow! 
So, here it is...
Math:  Complete WB pg. 16 front and back
Science:  Study plant notes for quiz tomorrow. 
Social Studies:  Study Piedmont notes AND maps AND study guide for test tomorrow
Reading:  Read The Cricket in Times Square.  Be prepared for a selection test tomorrow.  Also, study the vocabulary for a test tomorrow.
Spelling:  Complete WB pgs. 26 and 28.  Study words for test tomorrow.

Homework 10-13-10

Science:  Study the parts of the plant and what they are for.  Study the vocabulary and notes in your interactive notebook.  Quiz Friday.

Social Studies:  Complete the study guide on the Piedmont Region.  Quiz Friday.

Spelling:  use each word in a sentence.

Reading:  Complete WB pgs. 51 and 52.  Study vocabulary for The Cricket in Times Square.  Quiz Friday.

Math:  WB pg. 15 front and back.  Do NOT write in the book.  Please write the problems AND answers.  I need to see your work (whenever you are not using mental math!)
Science:  Complete the Assemble a Flower WS.  Use notes from your Science Interactive Notebook to find the answers.
Social Studies:  Study notes and Maps on the Tidewater region.  Quiz tomorrow.
Spelling:  WB pgs. 22 & 24.  Do NOT write in the WB.  Please answer questions on your own sheet of paper.  I need answers only.  You can put the answers for both pages on one sheet of paper.

Reading Class parents:
Your student took the Unit 1 Benchmark tests today on Interactive Achievement.  Please ask your child his/her score and discuss the importance of looking back in the story to find the answers.  As I always tell the students, all of the answers are there.  It is their job to find them!

I am still working on following you in the "follower" section.  I can see that nine people have signed up to follow my blog but I am still unable to see who you are.  I do know that checking this blog from my home computer will let me see a little more about the "followers", but I still don't have names.  I will figure it out (and buy the prizes) soon!

For those of you who have signed up to follow the blog....unfortunately I have no idea who you are due to some blogging issues that I am trying to resolve!  So, I am confidant that I will be able to resolve the issues and reward your students accordingly!  Please continue to check back in with me.

Homeroom Class Note:  Parents, we are working very hard to resolve (squash) some disruptive behaviors in the class.  Please remind your child the importance of following direction, not talking over other people (especially me), and showing respect.  Hopefully with some "tough love" we can have more successful days!
