Homework 11-22-10
Social Studies: Study!! Test tomorrow!
Note: We had an excellent field trip on Friday. I think that the kids really enjoyed themselves. Please encourage your student to retell the day and discuss with them what they learned. Hopefully they can:
- name the three ships that brought the English to Virginia
- tell you the name of the river where Jamestown is located and where it got it's name
- describe the life of a Native American according to the seasons
- give you three reasons the English chose Jamestown as the settlement site
- talk about how the lives of the Powhatan and English connected
**A HUGE thank you goes out to my chaperons! Mrs. Conover and Mrs. Mackenzie, you ladies are the best!! Thank you for all of your help! I know the kids enjoyed spending the day with you.

Field Trip Reminder
Please remember we will be going on our field trip to Jamestown on Friday, November 19.
· We will be leaving at 6:45 a.m. and returning at 7:00 p.m. We will be meeting in the cafeteria. Please pick up your child in the cafeteria at 7 p.m.
· Bring a bag lunch, drink, and a snack for the return trip.
· Students should dress in layers according to the weather. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes! We will be outside most of the day.
· NO GLASS BOTTLES!!
· We will NOT be visiting the gift shop, so DO NOT send money!
· NO electronics are allowed on the trip. (cameras, games, ipods, phones)
*** If you need the cafeteria to pack a lunch for you, please let me know by Wednesday!

Social Studies: Study Native Americans in your interactive notebooks. You need to know about: 1. Language Groups 2. Tribes 3. Locations 4. Eight Recognized Tribes
